ANDREW PRITCHARD

Director | Professional Architect Pr.Arch 7614

Andrew David Pritchard matriculated from Grey High School in PE in 1986 and went on to obtain his B.Arch from UPE. Andrew started his career with Balshaw & Ass. before joining BNM in 2005 when he took over the responsibilities in the Mthatha office.

Andrew has vast experience with the design and construction of public buildings in the area formerly know as the Transkei (rural areas of South Africa.) He completed new Offices for Department of Home Affairs in Lusikisiki.

At present, he is involved with both Madwaleni Hospital near Elliotdale as Principal Agent and lead architect, and as Principal Agent at Dihlabeng Regional Hospital.

Apart form his experience in healthcare, he also has a passion for industrial buildings - completing Hella Factory, HE 1 in East London IDZ.

He has also been involved in the design and documentation of the new Integrated Traffic Control Centre in Middelburg.

ARINDA SWART

Arinda Mari Swart graduated from the NMU with a B.Arch and took up a position at BNM where she registered as a Candidate Architect.

Post-registration, BNM seconded her to the OR Tambo region. There she gained invaluable experience with rural public hospitals, most notably Holy Cross and Madwaleni.

At the moment she is the Principal Agent and Architect for projects at Cecilia Makiwane Hospital, Motherwell CHC and PE Central CHC.

Since 2011 she has also rekindled her interest in School Architecture - focussing mostly on schools serving the needs of Learners with Special Needs. She has a special interest in universal design and a passion for designing for people with special needs. She has three accredited CPD courses.

Arinda holds a Research Masters Degree from NMU, with the subject of the treatise focussing on rural school design.

COBUS LOMBARD

Jacobus Johannes Lombard has 26 years experience as a professional architect, having work abroad in the UK and Windhoek before joining BNM in 2006. During this time, he was involved with commercial projects in Windhoek, such as the expansion of Maerua Mall.

He took over responsibilities at the BNM's Uitenhage Office in 2010 where a diverse clientele ranges from private individuals to international companies such as Volkswagen Group Africa.

His experience includes industrial projects such as a new manufacturing facility located at the East London IDZ and factory extensions at Lumotech in Kariega. He’s been involved at a number of educational projects such as Mfesane Secondary School and Jubilee Park Primary School.

He also completed a number of public buildings such as the Gelvandale Stadium for the 2010 FIFA World Cup; and more recently healthcare projects at Dora Nginza Hospital, Empilweni Hospital and Kwazakhele CHC.
